The University of Aruba is the beneficiary of the EDF-11 project for the establishment of a program for sustainable development in small island states through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The implementing partners for this project are UNDP (infrastructure and facilities) and KU Leuven (program development, teaching, and research). This project consists of the development of programs and facilities for bachelor and master education as well as PhD-research and the establishment of a STEM research center within a three (3) year term. For this project, the University of Aruba is looking for a:
PROJECT MANAGER (1,0 fte.)
The main responsibilities are: The project manager sits at the heart of this project on behalf of the University of Aruba and will be responsible for a good alignment of processes between the implementing partners and the local stakeholders in order to achieve the project goals. The project manager will be responsible for safeguarding the UA’s interests and will take responsibility for reporting, communication, negotiations, management, and administration of the project.
The ideal candidate:
- Holds a master’s degree or equivalent and has proven experience in complex project management.
- Is a team-player that can also work independently.
- Can demonstrate his/her ambition to contribute to sustainable development.
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and excellent organizational skills.
- Key competencies: accountability, result oriented, leadership, team management, and critical thinking.
