Laboratory Assistant

Overview

St. Maarten Laboratory Services NV (SLS) is an ambitious and rapidly developing organization in St. Maarten.
SLS provides 24-hour diagnostic services to the patients of the local Medical Center, ambulatory patients, and the public health department.
Our mission is to provide excellent diagnostic quality and service to our clients. SLS is accredited according to ISO 15189 & ISO/IEC 17025 standards.

This position plays a crucial role in supporting the department’s pre-analysis and post-analysis activities based on protocols and guidelines according to ISO15189.

**Key Responsibilities:**
– Patient administration.
– Phlebotomy.
– Assist with formulating policies and procedures.
– Receiving, sorting, and distributing patient samples.
– Processing and distributing test results.
– Other administrative tasks.

**Requirements and skills needed:**
– High School Diploma.
– Completed KMLO/Doctor’s Assistant or equivalent degree with experience.
– Knowledge and experience with a laboratory (automated) information systems, desirable.
– Proper hygiene and safety laboratory practices in handling (potentially) infectious material.
– Good social and communication skills.
– Knowledge of and experience with laboratory quality systems ISO 15189 is desirable.
– Experience with document management systems.
– Time management.
– Good command of the English language.
– Any other spoken languages will be appreciated.
